OUR WILD STUDIO IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR GUESTS OF ALL LEVELS OF PHOTOGRAPHIC ABILITIES TO BECOME PUBLISHED WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHERS.
Our specially designed courses appeal to non-photographers and are ideal for couples and families looking for different experiences.
Choose either general workshops or tailored private tuition in all our camps.
The workshops can be as short as three days making them extremely accessible to all travellers visiting different areas of the country.
Professional photographers will guide you through the technical aspects of photography, and then help refine your skills further to create a meaningful portfolio.
Quite simply we work backwards! On day one we will design the contents page of your ideal photographic portfolio. This serves as your flexible guide for the rest of the workshop. The chapters could be; birds in flight, soul of the elephant, running zebras or predators of the savannah. Let your creativity go wild.
Once we know what you would like to create we teach the skills needed to create the vision.
We don’t let the camera drive us but rather how it can be a tool to achieve your photographic goals.
Your image-capturing device can be a smartphone, GoPro or compact, right up to the professional cameras.
It does not matter as they can all capture an exposure of your subject to tell a story.

BOTSWANA, KENYA & ZIMBABWE
AFRICA’S PREMIER WILDLIFE VIEWING DESTINATIONS ON A SAFARI OFTEN ONLY DREAMT ABOUT.
We are proud to offer our guests the ability to experience the best wildlife viewing areas of Botswana, Zimbabwe and Kenya in our multi day Great African Flying Safari.
After years of studying big cats, as filmmakers and Explorers-In-Residence at National Geographic, Dereck and Beverly Joubert chose the best safari locations; their favourites being places teeming with big cats.
These range from the unique lions of Duba Plains to the abundant leopard and lion in the Selinda Reserve in Botswana to the cheetahs, leopards and lions of the Maasai Mara’s iconic savannahs.
At ol Donyo Lodge the story of the lion is etched into the ground with conservation efforts showing fantastic results.
Include new territories, such as the 120 000-hectare private Sapi Reserve in Zimbabwe to complete the ultimate flying safari across Africa.
Experience the breath-taking beauty of these big cats in Botswana, Zimbabwe and Kenya on the Great African Flying Safari.
Every departure is customised around your needs and wish list. This private flying adventure explores the most iconic wildlife destinations with the services of a private Pilatus PC 12. This safari brings a select number of guests the unique opportunity to experience the best of Botswana, Zimbabwe and Kenya.
This safari is one often dreamed about and is very much accessible to our guests. A morning’s wildlife drive in Botswana can be followed with sunset drinks in Kenya, whilst listening to the grunts of hippo.
BOTSWANA, KENYA & ZIMBABWE
RECALL THE FREEDOM OF YOUTH WHEN WE WERE ALL EXPLORERS OF SOME KIND, EVEN IF JUST IN OUR SUBURBAN GARDEN. WE EXPLORED, WE DISCOVERED, WE MIGHT HAVE EVEN GOTTEN LOST, BUT WE ALWAYS RETUNED WISER AND MORE ENLIGHTENED.
Experience the same world of wonder with your child or grandchild as they join us as a Young Explorer.
Safaris with kids as Young Explorers is an opportunity to stimulate all their senses. Safaris open up a whole new world to us all, but for kids that world is even more enchanting. Discovering new animals are a huge part of a safari experience, but delving deeper into what lies in the heart of the land and its people, all the while learning and experiencing, gives greater satisfaction to kids (and parents).
Stepping away from everyday life to build a traditional reed hut, treasure hunt or practice your newly learnt traditional bush survival skills is an experience we would all cherish.
For kids, a safari is magical and for adults, children on safari are an equal joy. They bring to light many of the questions, which adults are “afraid” to ask. They incite a level of discovery and excitement that adults have long forgotten. It is a time to connect with family and share life changing experiences like your first sighting of a favourite animal and reliving those moments around the fire together each night.
Our Young Explorers Programme blends fun with the freedom and purity of Africa.
Our safari camps are ideal family safari destinations as the private concessions and low guest numbers allow us extreme flexibility to explore by foot, canoe, mekoro, boat and wildlife viewing vehicle – day and night.
